The challenge
We received a request from Apple to develop a merchandise kit to reward employees and sales partners that downloaded and completed the company’s Sales training app SEED.
The insight
Apple has built its brand to be state of the art and style-oriented, recognised as a lifestyle choice for all those that own their products or work for them. Our team brought our keen understanding of the current trends to the project.
We focused on an eco-fitness merchandise solution.
Employee fitness is an industry that many companies are looking to understand. From enrichment programs, wellness coaching to gym memberships for staff, the wellbeing of staff has never been so popular. We found the numbers have increased regardless of sector. Research by the Rewards & Benefits Association showed that over a third of UK firms launched their wellbeing strategy to increase employee engagement, while around a quarter said it was done to improve their organisational culture.
Likewise, the increasingly-popular eco-trend within the merchandise industry is expected to grow by more than 20% from 2018 to 2023, with everything from cups to clothing, watches to water bottles all subject to the increasing requirement according to a recent report.
Research company APP also found 78% of respondents said they would be willing to pay a premium for luxury packaging produced in a sustainable way, while 71 per cent now expect luxury brands to use sustainable packaging. So, market-leaders like Apple could clearly see the benefits in the merchandise we offered to their brand’s value as well as the target audience.
What we did
Marke Creative married Apple’s style with sustainable aims and made sure the merchandise set was made from eco-friendly materials. The kit included:
1. A water bottle;
2. Two replacement water filters;
3. A sweat band;
4. A fitness towel.
We were also responsible for receiving all the items into our warehouse, packing them all and assembling each gift set for distribution.
The effects
A repeat order of kits is testament to the success of this promotional initiative. “The teams loved it!” Said the UK Project Manager. The boxes have now been successfully distributed across Europe to their intended users.
