Challenge
A multi-national engineering company wanted branded power banks produced and delivered to numerous countries across EMEA.
But the task was not that simple. Power banks contain lithium batteries, and are therefore considered dangerous goods, meaning restrictions on shipping by air to some markets.
We needed to find a way around the issue and comply with regulations if we were to meet the client’s needs.
Action
Never put off by a challenge, we got to work, painstakingly meeting the complex regulations. We dispatched all power banks with no more than a 30% charge, in parcels of two, checking every power bank charge before packing.
Despite this we met with a giant hurdle when our cargo was refused by the cargo airline that originally agreed to ship them. However, never prepared to accept defeat, our back-up solution of shipping by sea enabled us to meet the client’s deadline.
Impact
We did it! Successful delivery of a challenging category deemed ‘dangerous goods’ to multiple locations within EMEA, on time and in budget, providing a consistent product experience for all end users for the client.
